I want to be Martha!

So I'm in college now. It's crazy... I went from a high schooler to a college girl!! So since my newest goal is to become the next Martha Stewart. To clarify the goal is to eventually have my own line of craft supplies, cook yummy food, ORGANIZE EVERYTHING, teacher tips, and be an awesome homemaker.... I'm going to actually start doing stuff on here. I know I said that last time, but I mean it! Once a week I am going to pin at least one new idea. In the mean time here are a few of my more recent projects... PS if you need any of the DIY instructions feel free to email me at sarahbwales@gmail.com, and I would love to help you with your projects!! :)

summer kick off

Hello world and happy summer!

I am so excited because I actually have spare time to cross a few projects off my bucket list this summer. Here's just a few crafty creations I've made so far this summer! I learned how to make workout tanks, watercolor paintings, and even fishtail hair. So far this summer is off to a great start. Enjoy!!

just a few creations

Project #1 Soda-lightful Teacher Appreciation Project: I took diet coke- a teacher staple around my high school and added personal notes with the saying, "I am soda-lighted to have you as a teacher this year." They loved being remembered.

Project #2 Mother's Day painting: It isn't great, but my mom loves it or so she says she is essentially supposed to say that though since she is my mommy.

Project #3 Just a bit of inspiration: This was just some artwork/ inspiration for my bare bedroom walls.

Project #4 Thrifting: I saw this thing on how to dip dye and Colleen one of my friends was dying to make her own high waisted and distressed shorts, so off we went thrift store shopping to find old "mom jeans" and sweatshirts. It looked easy enough to dip dye so I grabbed some dye and attempted the cute look, this is how it turned out- not bad, however next time I may need a crew neck and less dye up the sleeves, but for $5 you can't beat this.

Project #5 Birthday Adventures: Today was my dear friend Becca's sweet 16. Her mom held a surprise birthday party for her, and we decorated cupcakes, made bracelets, and ate hotdogs&mac cheese- my favorite kind of day! Here are some pictures from our afternoon extravaganza.

Spring Break 2K12

Yay! It is Spring Break for me and I decided to knock out a few projects I have been dying to make.

Project #1: A conversation starter questions jar for GBC. I am super awkward at small talk in general, and since I lead a small group of seventh grade girls at church I was trying to figure out a way to ask them questions to get to know them without sounding like I am trying to pry into their little lives, I stumbled upon this idea of a questions jar for the dinner table, but decided it is even more perfect for the mingling minutes before youth group officially starts. My plan is to let a different gal pick one each week and have everyone in the group answer one of the eighty-four questions inside the jar. I can't wait to test it out!!

MIA

So I have been a bit MIA lately... I've been doing a bit of traveling, eating, sleeping STUDYING, and more eating, and sleeping, but I have managed to make a few more cards. It's spring break over here so hopefully I will have a bit of time to make a few more fun creations since I'm not going anywhere till Friday for the big day, my SEVENTEENTH. :)

Living life to its fullest

My latest project is a picture that I made that says you only live once in honor of the YOLO trend. This is such a BIG reminder not to take each day for granted. One of my close friends has a large brain tumor for the second time since she was born and she doesn't know how sick she is, but she keeps on trucking along despite all her pain. She literally does live each day to the fullest because she knows there is no point in wasting her time being negative when she has limited time being happy and excited. It has been really hard knowing we don't have much time with her left but to watch her: so graceful and lovely on the inside and out love God and live contently. I love her and admire her like no one else. She is amazing. Here she is in all her beauty this is us last year on our way to a church broom hockey game with abbey another amazing friend of mine!
